The data from West Java Psychiatric Hospital described that patients who needed inpatient treatment\u00a0 more than three thousand patients every year in the last three years. The condition of facilities are not \u00a0good enough today because this hospital was constructed in 1956, there are many problems in conventional facilities.The objective of this research to describe the actually\u00a0 condition of inpatient facilities especially for female patients (calm and acute). The method of this research was conducted with qualitative method, to understand the patient daily activity and find the lack of space design, also their needs. Data collecting was done through a survey to observe the patient activities,interviewed to nurses and physiciatric. Literature study was done to obtain the theories about relation between human and their environments specially for human has mental disorder, also find the recent issues of psychiatric hospital design.The result of this research, the female inpatient for calm patient needs patient dining room, special room for daily therapy, isolation room, living room, and psychiatric room. The female inpatient for acute patient has big problem about unpleasant odor, so it should improve the floor of individual bed room and channel trench around the building.
