Router based on Linux provide a control traffic like moduls such as CBQ and HTB, but bthe applications need a basic methods like policing and shaping. Traffic policing and traffic shaping that used token bucket control transfer rate on router interface. In policing method, data packet over the burst value will be dropped, otherwise shapping method will keep the data packet that over the burst on buffer. In this research, traffic policing and traffic shaping using Fedore Core 10. First scenario applicate both methods to arrange time interval 0,390625 seconds and second scenario arrange time interval 1,5 seconds. Third scenario using FTP server and fourth scenario using web server. Transfer rate download is arranged from 128 kbps, 256 kbps, 384 kbps to 512 kbps. The result shows the throughput on traffic shaping method is greatest than traffic policing (1,6 \u2013 79,498 bps).
