Beberapa keistimewaan<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>pemanfaatan<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>serat<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>sabut<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>kelapa<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>sebagai<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>bahan<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>baru<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>rekayasa<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>antara<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>lain menghasilkan<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>bahan<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>baru<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>komposit<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>alam<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>yang<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>ramah<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>lingkungan<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>dan<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>mendukung<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>gagasan pemanfaatan<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>serat<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>sabut<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>kelapa<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>menjadi<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>produk<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>yang<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>memiliki<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>nilai<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>ekonomi<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>dan<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>teknologi tinggi. Pada penelitian ini sabut kelapa dijadikan serat dalam sistem komposit yang diikat dengan matrik gypsum. Gypsum mempunyai sifat yang cepat mengeras yaitu sekitar 10 menit. Maka dalam pembuatan papan gypsum harus digunakan bahan kimia untuk memperlambat proses pengerasan tanpa mengubah sifat gypsum sebagai<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>perekat.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Untuk pemanfaatan yang lebih spesifik sebagai dinding pembatas suatu ruangan perlu diketahui karateristik akustik dari material tersebut. Untuk memperkuat papan komposit ini ditambahkan serat alumunium hollow. Karakteristik akustik untuk menentukan harga Transmission loss dan sound transmision class. Nilai koefisien transmision loss untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengurangan suara yang dapat dilakukan oleh komposit berbahan dasar serat sabut kelapa dan alumunium hollow bar dengan matrik gypsum.
