CMC (Carboxyl Methyl Cellulose) sebagai salah satu bahan aditif dan sudah banyak digunakan dalam berbagai industri (Hercules incorporated pada tahun 1946 ) karena tidak beracun,dan secara umum tidak menimbulkan alergi dan bersifat inert, sehingga relatif sangat aman untuk<br \/>\ndigunakan atau dikonsumsi.<br \/>\nDi Indonesia penggunaan CMC banyak dijumpai pada industri makanan, farmasi, kosmetik, kertas dan industri tekstil.
