Syarat kadar sitronelal minyak sereh wangi mutu ekspor adalah minimal 35%. Kadar sitronelal minyak sereh wangi hasil penyulingan biasanya di bawah standar ekspor.<br \/>\nPenelitian ini mempelajari operasi distilasi kukus dalam kolom berunggun raschic ring dengan skala laboratorium untuk meningkatkan kadar sitronelal. Minyak sereh wangi pada awalnya memiliki kadar sitronelal 30,62%-massa. Variabel yang diamati yaitu laju alir umpan, laju alir kukus, dan tinggi unggun. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kecenderungan bahwa kadar sitronelal meningkat dengan peningkatan laju alir kukus dan tinggi unggun, Kadar tertinggi sitronelal hasil redistilasi dalam ruang lingkup percobaan adalah 46,98%-massa. NTOL berkisar antara 0,11-2,24.
