Jika terkena racun sianida ini, maka dapat menyebabkan kematian pada mahluk hidup tersebut. Industri pelapisan logam (elektroplating) adalah salah satu industri yang menghasilkan limbah sianida dengan kadar yang cukup tinggi.\u00a0 Penanganan limbah sianida di industri pada umumnya menggunakan proses khlorinasi atau penukar ion.\u00a0 Pada saat ini, banyak para peneliti yang menyatakan bahwa proses elektrodeionisasi merupakan salah satu teknologi alternatif untuk mengatasi limbah sianida.\u00a0 Proses elektrodeionisasi ini menggabungkan proses elektrodialisis dengan penukar ion tanpa menggunakan regenerasi resin.\u00a0 Pada penelitian ini, proses elektrodeionisasi digunakan untuk menurunkan kadar sianida yang terdapat pada limbah industri elektroplating. Pada proses eletrodeionisasi ini diperoleh laju alir dan tegangan terbaik yang dapat memberikan persen penyisihan terbesar, yaitu 99%, adalah 5,5206 cm\/detik dan 60 volt.<\/p>\n<p>Dibuat oleh : Maya R.M., Sirin F., Gulam H dan I.
