Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penyisihan logam berat Hg menggunakan karbon aktif berbahan dasar batok kelapa dan kayu, serta parameter-parameter adsorpsi optimum yang mendukung proses penyisihan, yaitu pH, bobot karbon aktif dan waktu kontak. Penelitian di lapangan dilakukan untuk mengetahui kualitas air baku meliputi pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), suhu, dan Hg. Penelitian di laboratorium dilakukan secara batch dengan variasi pH 2, 3, 4, 5, dan 6; variasi\u00a0berat karbon aktif 1 g, 2 g, 3 g, 4 g, dan 5 g; waktu kontak 1 jam, 3 jam, 5 jam, dan 7 jam. Pengukuran Hg dilakukan menggunakan metode menggunakan pedoman metode SK SNI M\u201379-1990-03. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kondisi optimum karbon aktif batok kelapa yang telah diaktivasi dengan larutan H3PO4 6M adalah pada pH 3 dengan bobot 1 g selama 5 jam, sementara itu untuk<br \/>\nkarbon aktif kayu yang telah diaktivasi dengan larutan H3PO4 6 M, kondisi optimum terjadi pada pH 2 dengan bobot 4 g selama 5 jam.
