KAJIAN SUHU OPTIMUM PADA PROSES PEMADATAN UNTUK CAMPURAN BERASPAL DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MODIFIKASI BITUMEN LIMBAH PLASTIK

ABSTRAK

The road is one of the transportation facility that requires to support economic development in a country, so in its service life very expected to give road services such as safety convenience for user. But in each year there are so many damages that happened before service life achieved/accomplished. One of the causing factor of road damage is the compaction process of a asphalt mixture on the field often inaccurate temperature. Therefore it is needed the study of optimum temperature in compaction process for asphalt mixture using modified bitumen with plastic waste. The objective of this research is to determines the optimum temperature in compaction process of asphalt mixture using modified bitumen with plastic waste. Based on analysis result from the data of laboratory investigation, showing that from Marshall test result for the pure asphalt (0 % plastic) obtained the optimum temperature on temperature range 126°C-159°C, even though for modified asphalt 1% plastic obtained the optimum temperature range 136°C-160°C. The result of the ITS test using plastic waste obtained compaction optimum temperature on 160°C, and for the pure asphalt (0% plastic) obtained compaction optimum temperature on 150°C. From the both of test obtained compaction optimum temperature of the compaction process for asphalt mixture modified on 160°C and for the pure asphalt (0% plastic) on 150°C.
