PENGEMBANGAN LEMBAR KERJA MAHASISWA DAN PERANGKAT LUNAK PEMBANTU PERANCANGAN ALGORITMA UNTUK KULIAH LOGIKA PEMROGRAMAN
Programming Logics is a compulsory course at the Department of Industrial Engineering Institut Teknologi Nasional. The objective of this course is to deliver basic knowledge in designing algorithm of a computer program. Besides its direct benefit in developing computer program, the indirect benefit from understanding of programming logics is to develop logical, sequential, and systematic pattern of thinking, which is much needed in the field of industrial engineering. This teaching research has general objective to improve students understanding of programming logics course. The specific objectives are to establish a supporting software for algorithm design and student S worksheets to support teaching-learning. The teaching-learning method based on the principles of active-student learning (student centered), cooperative study group, learning by-doing, and reactive teaching. The student’s worksheet was developed with a pattern o j warming-up, partial design, design, and review. This pattern was designed so that students will always recall previous basic materials before gathering and doing more-advanced level materials. The supporting software of algorithm design was developed in the form offlowchart template of programming logics in Arena software. This software can be used to verzfi algorithm design inflowchart form. Result showed that the classes which were treated by the developed method had better successrate and final-mark distribution compared to the previous years. The classes also had better success-rate and final-mark distribution compared to other class which was not treated by the developed method. Result @om teaching-learning evaluation questionnaires had descriptively shown that the students could satisfactorily accept the developed teaching-learning method.
