Possibility of Using Recycled Aggregate as an Alternative to Natural Aggregate in Malaysia
This paper provides an overview on the potential of using recycled aggregate for sustainable construction industry. It describes experiences from other countries on the performance of Recycle Aggregate (RA) as an alternative to natural aggeregate. Even though most of researches found that Recycle Aggregate Concrete ( RAC) has lower compressive strength than Natural Aggregate Concrete (NAC), but this type of concrete can be used for non-structural application. Beside cost saving, the usage of RA will ease the environmental problem that are currently perceived globally. It is intended to give awareness and opportunity of using RA. which not only advantageous to the construction industry, but also contributes towards a sustainable construction in Malaysia.
